Acupuncture Offerings
Acupuncture is a modality that belongs to the larger art and science of Chinese Medicine. It involves the placement of very fine, flexible needles at specific points on a person’s body to effect healing. There is a saying in Chinese medical literature that all illness is due to blocked vitality. Acupuncture is used to release holding patterns and encourage the body to restore homeostasis. Since the body is not considered a separate entity from the mind, spirit or emotions, acupuncture addresses the entire being.
Sessions are offered in person, one person at a time, to provide a deep and personalized experience. Each session includes time to catch up on your progress and concerns. Please see below for our Cancellation Policy before booking.

New Client Session
In your first session, we will spend 10-15 minutes talking about your health and what it is you’d like to improve or get relief from. This session will include a thorough intake, and either a back or front acupuncture treatment, or both. Sessions are done on a massage table and you remain as clothed as possible. Chosen points are based upon assessment, information given by you, and tongue and pulse diagnosis. Sensitivity to needles is always taken into consideration, as your comfort and ability to completely relax is important.

Follow Up Session
Follow-ups involve a chat to update me on progress and allow time for you to ask questions. Unless you require more time on one side, you will receive a back and a front treatment.
As always, sessions are done on a massage table and you remain as clothed as possible. Sensitivity to needles is always taken into consideration, as your comfort and ability to completely relax is important.

Mini Session
Mini sessions are acupuncture sessions where you’re in and out in 45 minutes. This does not leave time for chatting at the beginning or at the end of sessions. These are great for people on lunch breaks or who are running from one thing to the next and don’t have a lot of time to spare. In a mini session, you’ll receive the same great quality of care, but instead of a back and a front treatment or a very long session, you’ll get a one sided treatment. These are usually front treatments, and you’ll be on the table for about 30-35 minutes.

Younger Kids Session
Children benefit greatly from acupuncture and respond quite well and quickly to it. Their sessions don’t always need to be as long as an adults. Some kids are leery of needles so I work with them on that, and will often times integrate gentle acupressure and sometimes energy work into their sessions. Once they realize it doesn’t really hurt to receive an acupuncture treatment, I just focus on that. They typically get fewer needles in a session. Session time and cost varies on a case by case basis and parents are welcome to be present during the sessions.

I recommend seeing if your plan includes out of network benefits for acupuncture. If so, I can email you a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Ageless Energy Medicine/Reiki
10 MINUTE ADD-ON FOR $30
In these sessions I utilize a combination of my first love, Reiki, with a blend of energy medicine, visualization, and breath work techniques I’ve learned and discovered through out my 26 years of experience in the healing arts field.
Treatments are done on a massage type table, and you lay face up. I combine work in your auric field with hands on healing. Sometimes I start at the head, sometimes the feet. Touch is very light and non invasive. Oftentimes I’ll sit at your head and guide you through a visualization and breathing process that helps you transform and release blockages to your well being. These can be physical, pranic/Qi based, or mental/emotional.
Facial Acupressure
10 MINUTE ADD-ON FOR $30
This add-on to your session is based on an Ayurvedic marmani facial protocol as taught by Dr. Vasant Lad. Before adding needles to the face, I will do acupressure with gliding strokes between points. Since all of the meridians open on to the face this session effects the entire body. Not only that, it is extraordinarily relaxing and assists with drainage and circulation to and from the head and face.
Cupping
10 MINUTE ADD-ON FOR $30
Cupping is a really unique technique that's been used for thousands of years across many cultures. For this, I will create a vacuum in a heavy glass cup and place it on your skin, which has been prepped with sesame or coconut oil, depending on the season. I’ll then slide the cups up and down the long muscles of the back. It's fantastic for loosening up tight muscles and clearing stagnation. It's also very helpful post cold for lingering cough and for asthma.
Cancellation Policy
Please note that there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. If an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of it occurring, or you forget to show up, you will be charged a fee of $125, the cost of a follow up appointment. If you are cancelling a facial acupuncture appointment the policy is different, please see that page. There are no exceptions to this policy and payment is due by the time of the missed appointment. If you do not pay the fee that day you will not be able to reschedule until you do.
